Commemorative posters celebrate F1’s 70th anniversary
F1 marks a very special birthday today, 70 years on from the very first world championship Grand Prix, and to mark the occasion Formula 1 – in partnership with Automobilist – have produced some equally special posters.
Envisioned as a tribute to the sport, and an offering to loyal F1 fans and supporters across generations, the posters – available in the F1 Print Store – combine the spirit of winners past with the potential of racing yet to come.
The first, limited-edition print takes the theme of ‘Our past fuels our future’ and features a rendering of an F1 car of the coming seasons – based on the new technical regulations – on a retro black and white background symbolic of both race tracks and the chequered flag. In a nod to the first year of the championship, just 1950 pieces are being produced.

The second, more limited Collectors’ Edition poster similarly includes the car of the future, but combined with the name of every world champion past and a commemoration of 70 years etched out in golden embossing.
A total of 700 pieces of this will be printed, plus an additional 400 of an even more exclusive Drivers’ Edition, to be presented to drivers past and present, team owners, and other major participants in the sport and media.
