Max Verstappen was in supreme form at Spa-Francorchamps this past weekend. And to look back on all the action from the Belgian Grand Prix, Tom Clarkson is joined on this week's episode of our F1 Nation podcast by Michael Schmidt from Germany’s Auto Motor und Sport and Swiss F1 racer Marc Surer.

Verstappen made his way through the field in Spa, avoiding chaos on the first lap before overtaking his rivals with ease to win his ninth race of the season. And the trio discuss the Red Bull driver’s performance in Belgium and the implications for the championship this year, as they analyse why the Dutch racer was so much quicker than his team mate, in second, Sergio Perez.

Also on the agenda for this week is the battle for fourth in the constructors’ championship, after a double-points finish for Alpine saw them extend their lead to McLaren to 20 points, as the gang discuss the outstanding performances of both Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon.

The team also look at the current state of the driver market, as they dissect the Oscar Piastri situation with Alpine and how the Australian’s possible move could impact the rest of the 2023 available grid slots.

Williams driver Alex Albon also makes a cameo, opening up about how he managed to hold off intense competition to finish in P10 – his third points finish of the season. The Thai driver also explains the set-up Williams used that made them so quick in the straights, especially in the first sector.

Lastly, Audi Le Mans winner Alan McNish arrives to discuss the announcement that the German manufacturer would be joining the sport in 2026 as a power unit supplier.
