F1 TRACKS: Listen to Lance Stroll's takeover playlist

The first ever F1 Tracks driver takeover is here, with Racing Point's Lance Stroll having curated a playlist of his favourite tunes.

The Canadian is set for his second season with Racing Point in 2020 after finishing the 2019 season with a best position of P4 at the spectacular German Grand Prix to add to his podium in Azerbaijan in his rookie season.

He's pulled together some of his top tracks with a varied playlist for fans, including three songs by Red Hot Chili Peppers and three from the Rolling Stones, who prove to be his favourite artists.

The playlist also features some classic hits, including Guns N' Roses' Knockin’ on Heavens Door and Weezer's Island In The Sun. Also featured is the brand new song from Weezer, Hero, from the band’s forthcoming album Van Weezer.

What was the first album you bought?
I’d have to give that one to 50 Cent.

Which artist dead or alive would you love to see perform live and why?
Pearl Jam – they’re epic, always wanted to see them.

If you’re driving style could be summed up by a song, which one would it be and why?
Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.

Who is the best artist you’ve seen live?
Sir Elton John put on a great performance in Italy a couple of years ago.

If you were stranded on a desert island and were allowed to take three albums with you, which would they be?

What’s your guilty pleasure when it comes to music?

If you could go to a gig with three people dead or alive, who would they be and what band/artists would you go and see?
I would go with my best buds to go see the Stones or Queen.

You work hard on your fitness outside of the car. Which tracks really help push you through a workout?
That’s different. I change it up all the time - could be: Rock, R&B, Rap. Different days you feel different ways.

After a gruelling season, which tracks do you like to chill to during the off-season?
TV On The Radio – Wolf Like Me

Which tunes do you blast through your headphones to get you in the zone before a race?
Mainly songs by the Red Hot Chili Peppers

Which tunes do you like to celebrate to with the team after a successful race weekend?
Queen – We Are The Champions

What’s on your playlist for when things haven’t gone so well and you’re alone in the motorhome after a race?
I stick on something upbeat and lifting.

Suppose you are allowed music in the cockpit – you are hunting down the car in front of you for the lead of the Grand Prix in the closing laps. Which song do you listen to and why?
There’s a time and place for music but – the Jaws theme tune… na-na na-na nanananana…

Who is your ideal act to bring the party and close the Abu Dhabi festival at the end of the season in style?
It would be awesome to see the Rolling Stones tie up the season.
