F1 TV now available on the Roku platform in the USA
F1 TV has made its North American debut on the Roku platform with both the Pro and Access subscription plans of Formula 1’s OTT service now available in the Roku Channel Store in the US.
This is the first time F1 TV will be available to watch on a large screen format. Formula 1 fans (US only for now) will now be able to enjoy a set of complimentary features to those already offered by F1 TV on their desktops and mobile devices and watch them on any screen they choose. F1 TV will allow users to view all sessions of each Grand Prix live, access all onboard cameras and hear unedited team radios, as well as watch the multi-screen Pit Lane channel that combines exclusive commentary with the best camera angles and data at any given time.
Fans can also access all the live timing data, more than 800 hours of historical F1 footage and exclusive F1 TV documentaries such as “F2: Chasing the Dream”, the five-part docuseries that takes you behind the scenes of the 2019 FIA Formula 2 Championship.
The first opportunity to enjoy live streaming of F1 TV on Roku devices will be from Wednesday February 19, when Formula 1 pre-season testing sessions commence. F1 TV will livestream each session from every day, on 19 to 21 February and from 26 to 28 February.
Frank Arthofer, Director of Digital and Licensing at Formula 1, said: “This is an exciting time for Formula 1 and we are delighted to announce this deal with Roku. Launching F1 TV in the US, with Roku as our first connected TV platform, will enable us to strike the right balance between super-serving fans and testing and learning on a new platform. There is enormous potential to deliver an enhanced viewing experience to the sport’s fans and Roku customers alike.”
Yulia Poltorak, Head of International Content Distribution at Roku added: “Formula 1 is one of the most watched sporting series in the world. Now Roku users in the U.S. will be able to experience the excitement and thrill of this prestigious competition right in the comfort of their living rooms.”
