If you were near Silverstone today, you may have heard the sound of a V8 engine thundering round the Northamptonshire circuit's sweeping turns as Mick Schumacher took his father Michael’s first F1 car – the Jordan 191 – for a spin…
The German, who made his F1 debut this year with Haas 30 years after Michael got his shot with Eddie Jordan’s team in 1991, completed a series of laps in a short run as part of a Sky Sports feature for the broadcaster’s Belgian Grand Prix coverage, as you can see in the gallery above.
It came just days after the British Grand Prix, where Mick finished 18th, and ahead of the next race in Hungary, the last event before F1’s traditional summer break.

This is not the first time Mick has driven one of his father’s cars. In 2017, he took the seven-time world champion’s first title-winning car – the Benetton B194 – for a spin at Spa.
And as part of Ferrari’s 1,000th Grand Prix celebrations at last year’s Tuscan Grand Prix at Mugello, Mick drove Michael’s final title-winning car – the F2004 – around the track before the start of the race, a year after he demoed it at Hockenheim.
