GOOD LAP vs GREAT LAP: Ride onboard with Carlos Sainz around the Temple of Speed at Monza
Share
Monza is known as the Temple of Speed for a reason – plenty of straights for flat-out pushing and not too many corners to slow the cars down, which means horsepower is at a premium. It's one of the most exciting venues that the F1 circus visits, not least because it is situated in Italy, home of Ferrari and the ever-passionate tifosi who will turn the circuit into a cauldron of red this weekend.
Carlos Sainz is about to get his first taste of Monza as a Scuderia racer, but last year in his guise as a McLaren driver, the Spaniard put in a supremely quick lap to grab third on the grid in qualifying as he was beaten only by the Mercedes pair.
