HEAD TO HEAD: How do 2021's F1 team mate pairings compare at the half-way point of the season?
How do things stack up between all the F1 team mates this season? After 11 rounds, we compare the intra-team battles and weigh up the head-to-heads from Hamilton vs Bottas, to Schumacher vs Mazepin, and everyone in between...
Mercedes
Does the reigning champion have this battle wrapped up? Lewis Hamilton has out-raced team mate Valtteri Bottas in all but the Azerbaijan and Austrian Grands Prix. As for qualifying, the Briton has out-qualified the Finn 9-2 with Bottas taking pole over Hamilton in Portugal and qualifying third to Hamilton's seventh in Monaco.
With three DNFs – at Imola, Monaco, and Hungary – and no victories, Bottas is 87 points behind Hamilton after the Hungarian GP.
Red Bull
Max Verstappen leads the qualifying battle 10-1 over Sergio Perez – Perez having out-qualified Verstappen only at Imola. And the Dutchman has out-raced his Mexican team mate in all but the Azerbaijan and British Grands Prix, where Verstappen retired. Both drivers have won Grands Prix but Verstappen is 83 points ahead of Perez, whose only victory this season came when his team mate retired in Azerbaijan.

Ferrari
A far closer team mate battle than at Mercedes and Red Bull; Charles Leclerc has only three fewer points than Carlos Sainz with the former's two DNFs – at home in Monaco and in Hungary – partly to blame. Leclerc and Sainz have a best finish of P2 each but Sainz hasn't qualified better than fourth this season. However, the Spaniard has more podiums having pounced on the opportunities in Monaco and Hungary...

McLaren
Lando Norris has got the better of new team mate Daniel Ricciardo this season with more than double the Australian's points – a tally helped by his podiums in Austria, Monaco, and at Imola. Furthermore, Norris has out-raced Ricciardo nine times and out-qualified him eight times. Just one DNF between the two, in Hungary, is a testament to McLaren's reliablity and consistency this season.

Alpine
Separated by just one point, Hungarian GP winner Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso are in a tight intra-team battle. Sure, Ocon has the Hungarian GP win but he's one behind Alonso in the qualifying stakes. And there's slightly more cause for concern for the Frenchman.
Alonso, who's on six consecutive points scores, has picked up the pace having out-raced and out-qualified Ocon in five of the last six rounds...
AlphaTauri
What's the story at AlphaTauri? Rookie Yuki Tsunoda has been out-qualified in every round but beaten team mate Pierre Gasly in Bahrain, Great Britain and – where Gasly retired – Styria. The Japanese driver is 32 points behind the Frenchman but respectable points finishes including P6 in Hungary have kept him afloat. Gasly is eking everything out of his AT02 however, with a podium in Azerbaijan from P4 on the grid the highlight of his season so far.

Aston Martin
Aston Martin's two drivers paint a peculiar picture. Split by 12 points, Lance Stroll and Sebastian Vettel have had a topsy-turvy season and, while the four-time champion scored a podium in Azerbaijan, Stroll has out-raced the German – who has suffered three DNFs and a disqualification in Hungary – 7-4, while in qualifying the reverse is true.
Williams
The Grove squad are hot off a memorable race in Hungary. Nicholas Latifi led a double-points score for Williams at the Hungaroring over George Russell, but the Briton has continued his record of never being out-qualified by a Williams team mate. Furthermore, Russell has out-raced Latifi 7-3 this season and made it as high as eighth on the grid.
Alfa Romeo
Antonio Giovinazzi has the run of qualifying over veteran team mate Kimi Raikkonen at Alfa Romeo, but the Finn has scored double the points of the Italian. Well, he's leading the points battle 2-1 thanks to scores in Hungary and Azerbaijan. Despite one DNF for Raikkonen, he's still out-raced Giovinazzi 6-5.

Haas
It was always going to be a tough season for Haas, the only team not to have scored points this season, but Mick Schumacher has made the most of his debut season so far as he leads the race and qualifying tallies 9-2 over fellow rookie team mate Nikita Mazepin. P12 in Hungary for Schumacher was the team's highlight this season. As for DNFs, Mazepin had just one at the start of the season and one in the latest race.
