The rate at which Lewis Hamilton has racked up F1 victories over the past few years meant it was inevitable he would hit 100 wins at some point, though he has been made to wait a little to actually hit the landmark.

After winning at Silverstone in the summer for win #99, he had to watch first Esteban Ocon, then Max Verstappen (twice) and finally Daniel Ricciardo take the top step of the podium.

But finally in Russia the Mercedes man hit the magic number with race win #100. Though even then, it looked likely he would be denied on the day by McLaren's Lando Norris - until rain arrived just a few laps from the finish, and Hamilton's call to pit for intermediate tyres while Norris stayed out proved inspired, and saw him take the chequered flag first for the 100th time.

See the key moment in the video up top. And after hitting this landmark, the next question is can Hamilton go on to win a record eighth world championship this year? We'll all have to keep watching to find out...
