Monza is always one of the highlights of the year, when a sea of red greets the drivers every day as the loyal tifosi descend on this iconic track. Ferrari are always under pressure to do well, and while they delivered a podium, they also had some other things to celebrate this weekend – not least Carlos Sainz’s birthday…

Don't ever trust your boss

Sainz was attempting to celebrate his 29th birthday with a traditional cake and a nice photo call with his team, getting a snap for the album. Instead, he had to do battle with team boss Fred Vasseur who was determined to play court jester.

Masterchef contestant

Yuki Tsunoda's love of food is well known – he waxes lyrical about the local cuisine at every race. But now that he lives in Italy, he decided to treat former team mate Pierre Gasly to a slap up meal. Perhaps that's what slowed the Frenchman down in qualifying?

Definitely not a flop

There were plenty of celebrities and famous athletes in attendance in Monza, but not many of them made quite as much impression as this guy, Olympic champion high jumper Gianmarco Tamberi.

Celeb spotting

Speaking of celebrities, what do you get if you combine skiing, football and social media sensations? We aren't sure either, but we were very happy to see skiing legend Sofia Goggia, Brazilian star Vini Junior and the hilarious Khaby Lame at the track this weekend.

Old, new, silver, blue?

Well, you don't ask you don't get. This fan made their intentions clear, but no one has found out Lewis Hamilton's answer just yet. We do know he has pledged his future to Mercedes though, with Toto Wolff sounding pretty happy to be keeping him around for two more years.

If it ain't broke...

We all remember what happened on the Hungary podium. Well, now Max Verstappen has finally been reunited with his winning trophy. Lando Norris was allowed to hold it – only briefly, he admitted, lest a repeat breakage take place – and now it is back where it belongs.

Passionate tifosi

The last word must go to the tifosi. They turned up in their thousands, climbed trees, sat on each other's shoulders and did everything possible to get a good view of the Scuderia in action. They created an incredible atmosphere, one the drivers won't forget anytime soon. Until next year Monza!
