McLaren have now gone six seasons without a win, but can take hope from last year’s improved finish in the constructors’ championship with sixth – three places higher than they managed in 2017.
Change has swept through the halls of the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, with the technical team given an overhaul and James Key set join this year from Toro Rosso to head up the department.
They will also field an new-look driver line-up, with double world champion Fernando Alonso and Stoffel Vandoorne heading out the door and Carlos Sainz and rookie Lando Norris stepping in to replace them.
McLaren are the fourth team to announce their 2019 reveal, with their launch pencilled in for February 14th, one day after Racing Point, a day ahead of Ferrari and four days before pre-season testing begins.
