New world record earns Red Bull 2019 DHL Fastest Pit Stop Award

Sunday was a good day all round for Red Bull in Sao Paulo. Not only did Max Verstappen win the Brazilian Grand Prix, his first visit to the pits saw Red Bull's crew service his car in a new world record time – just 1.82s.

That broke the previous mark of 1.88s, also set by Red Bull earlier this year at the German Grand Prix. In fact, the team have been peerless in the pits this season, clocking the five fastest stops so far, with Williams the only other squad to dip below the 2s mark.

It means that with one round of 2019 still remaining, Red Bull are now uncatchable in the DHL Fastest Pit Stop Award stakes, and are set to collect their trophy at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in just under two weeks’ time.
