Around a wet Silverstone circuit, Carlos Sainz produced a magnificent final lap to take his maiden F1 pole position, ahead of tomorrow’s British Grand Prix.
As the chequered flag was waved, Sainz crossed the line to set a time of 1m 40.983, eclipsing the time set by team mate Charles Leclerc by 0.315s. His nearest challenger, Max Verstappen, was a mere 0.072s behind, after failing to match the time set by Sainz on his final lap.
