Alonso and Ocon reveal 2021 helmet designs for maiden season with Alpine
Alpine's dazzling A521 F1 car broke cover on Tuesday and now their drivers, two-time champion Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon, have revealed the helmet designs they'll be wearing for the 2021 season.
Alonso makes a sensational return to F1 this season with the team formerly known as Renault, with whom he won two championships in 2005 and '06, and his new helmet design evokes the colours of his title-winning Renault R25 and R26 cars - which match the flag of his home region of Asturias - while also incorporating a dash of red in homage to the Spanish flag.
The 39-year-old last entered a Grand Prix in 2018 when he competed for McLaren, and spent 2019 and 2020 competing in IndyCar, WEC and the Dakar Rally among other projects. He will drive the Alpine A521 that was launched after Mercedes' W12 on Tuesday.
The Spaniard missed Alpine's launch having injured his jaw in a cycling accident in February, but maintains he is fighting fit for the season ahead. View his stunning helmet design below.

Esteban Ocon, who is set to embark on a third full season in F1, will partner veteran Alonso in 2021 and took a maiden podium last season. The Frenchman sports the colours of his national flag in a new helmet design.

The 24-year-old's headgear features the French flag at the back of the helmet and a bright red and blue motif throughout that should complement the Alpine A521's livery perfectly.
