BETTING GUIDE: Who are the favourites as F1 heads to Singapore?
Formula 1 arrives in Singapore for Round 18 of the championship and it looks to be an exciting weekend ahead. McLaren have now taken the lead of the constructors’ standings from Red Bull following Oscar Piastri’s victory in Azerbaijan – but do the odds favour the Woking outfit this time around, or could one of their rivals prove victorious at the Marina Bay Street Circuit?
188BET’s odds are presented in decimal form: for every $1 wagered you would win the figure represented by the odds; so, if Verstappen is favourite at 1.50, you would win $1.50 for every dollar bet.
POWER RANKINGS: Who earned a perfect score from our judges after another Baku thriller?
The odds for the win
It was not the perfect weekend for Lando Norris last time out in Baku, with the Briton having to put in a recovery drive on Sunday after a difficult qualifying left him down in P15 on the grid. While he worked his way up to P4, the odds favour Norris to finish a few positions higher in Singapore and take his third F1 victory.
Next favourite is his team mate Piastri, while Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc – the man that posed the closest threat to Piastri for the win in Baku – is close behind. Championship leader Max Verstappen, meanwhile, finds himself ranked as fifth most likely to take P1, having not won a race since the Spanish Grand Prix back in June.
• Lando Norris 2.75
• Oscar Piastri 4.40
• Charles Leclerc 4.50
• Carlos Sainz 8.00
• Max Verstappen 11.0
• George Russell, Lewis Hamilton 17.0
• Sergio Perez 34.0
• Fernando Alonso, Lance Stroll 301
• Alex Albon, Daniel Ricciardo, Esteban Ocon, Franco Colapinto, Kevin Magnussen, Nico Hulkenberg, Pierre Gasly, Valtteri Bottas, Yuki Tsunoda, Zhou Guanyu 601
The odds for who will be fastest in qualifying
Again, despite those aforementioned troubles in qualifying last weekend, Norris is the favourite to claim pole position at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. But, while the British driver has taken P1 on the grid in two of the three races since F1 returned from its summer break, it was Leclerc who took the accolade in Azerbaijan.
The Monegasque is likely to be in contention again this weekend, as is Piastri and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz, while Verstappen should not be ruled out despite Red Bull seemingly struggling to solve their recent issues with the RB20.

The odds for a podium finish
The McLaren and Ferrari pairings are tipped as most likely to stand on the podium this weekend, while Mercedes’ George Russell and Lewis Hamilton are slightly further back in the odds, despite Russell claiming a surprise third place in Baku following a late-race collision between Sainz and Red Bull’s Sergio Perez.
No driver outside of the leading four teams has scored a top-three finish yet in 2024, but the man tipped as being in with the best chance of doing so is Fernando Alonso, who took a P6 result for Aston Martin in Azerbaijan.
• Lando Norris 1.30
• Oscar Piastri 1.50
• Charles Leclerc 1.60
• Carlos Sainz 2.10
• Max Verstappen 2.50

The odds for a top-six finish
After that sixth place in Baku, Alonso is again in with a shout of repeating this at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, a venue that he has previously taken victory at on two occasions. But who else could potentially sneak into the top-six should things go their way?
The odds suggest that Alonso’s team mate Lance Stroll is also a possible candidate, while the Williams pair of Alex Albon and Franco Colapinto are next favourites off the back of their double points finish last time out.
• Lando Norris 1.07
• Charles Leclerc, Oscar Piastri 1.10
• Carlos Sainz 1.20
• Max Verstappen 1.25
• George Russell, Lewis Hamilton 1.50

The odds for a points finish
While the margins are fine at the front of the pack, this is also proving to be the case through the midfield, meaning that several drivers could possibly be in the battle for points in Singapore. Alongside those previously mentioned, Nico Hulkenberg is a favourite for a top-10 result, having only just missed out in Baku by crossing the line in P11.
RB’s Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda are tipped to potentially be in the mix, as is Haas’s Kevin Magnussen, who will be keen to hit the ground running this weekend after being forced to skip Baku due to a race ban.
• Lando Norris, Max Verstappen 1.05
• Carlos Sainz, Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Lewis Hamilton, Oscar Piastri, Sergio Perez 1.08
• Fernando Alonso 1.25
• Lance Stroll 1.90
• Alex Albon 2.10

• Franco Colapinto 3.25
• Daniel Ricciardo, Kevin Magnussen, Yuki Tsunoda 4.30
• Esteban Ocon, Pierre Gasly 6.50
• Valtteri Bottas 13.0
• Zhou Guanyu 26.0
The odds for fastest lap
Norris set the fastest lap of the race in Azerbaijan, providing him with a valuable extra point as he attempts to make further headway on Verstappen’s lead in the drivers’ standings.
The Briton is tipped to repeat the feat this weekend, but the odds also suggest that Leclerc, Verstappen and Piastri could be in with a shot. Given how fiercely close the fight is at this stage of the season, that additional point might become crucial.

Unsurprisingly, new championship leaders McLaren lead the way in this category, while Ferrari are ranked as second favourites to take home the most points in Singapore.

The odds for a Safety Car appearing during the race
Ever since its arrival on the F1 calendar in 2008, the Singapore Grand Prix has regularly featured an appearance from the Safety Car – and sometimes on multiple occasions within one race. The odds therefore suggest that this is much more likely to occur than not during the 2024 edition.
• Yes 1.14
• No 5.50
The odds for number of classified drivers
Reliability has continued to be strong this season, though last weekend’s race in Azerbaijan saw one of the higher numbers of retirements as four drivers failed to finish. Like Baku, Singapore has witnessed several crashes over the years, which could potentially result in fewer drivers making it to the chequered flag.

The odds for a winning margin
This is a category that has seen some variation of late; Norris took victory by a significant margin in Zandvoort, but Leclerc and Piastri’s respective wins at Monza and Baku have been more closely fought. Will we see a dominant win this weekend, or could the victor face a battle to the line?
