The F1 teams have headed Stateside for the second race of the season on US soil. The two titles might be done and dusted but there is still plenty to play for, with positions in the constructors’ all-important when it comes to deciding the prize money at the end of the year.

Mercedes and Ferrari will be keen to do well as a result, but can anyone stop the juggernaut that is Max Verstappen’s Red Bull? Let’s see what the odds say.

188BET’s odds are presented in decimal form: for every $1 wagered you would win the figure represented by the odds; so, if Verstappen is favourite at 1.50, you would win $1.50 for every dollar bet.

The odds for the win

Unsurprisingly, Verstappen is the favourite for the win. He’s bounced back from the disappointment that was Singapore with victories in Japan and Qatar, and a win at COTA would give him his 15th victory of an already record-breaking season. The Dutchman has won this race for the last two years, but he might not have it all his own way this weekend.

That’s because McLaren have been getting closer and closer to the Bulls, with two double podiums on the bounce. The papaya team have two very in-form drivers as well, with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri pushing each other to greater and greater heights. But can they match Ferrari in taking a win this year? It will take quite a special performance, but you wouldn’t put it fast their dynamic duo.

  • Max Verstappen 1.20
  • Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri 15.0
  • Sergio Perez 19.0
  • Charles Leclerc, George Russell, Lewis Hamilton 26.0
  • Carlos Sainz 29.0
  • Fernando Alonso 67.0
  • Esteban Ocon, Pierre Gasly 301
  • Daniel Ricciardo, Alex Albon, Lance Stroll, Valtteri Bottas, Yuki Tsunoda 601

The odds for who will be fastest in qualifying

With Austin playing host to a Sprint weekend, qualifying could be a mixed affair, with only one practice session for everyone to familiarise themselves with the track. Last year’s pole-sitter was Carlos Sainz, with Verstappen starting from P1 back in 2021. But Piastri could spring a surprise, after he was quickest of all in the Sprint Shootout last weekend, and clearly has form over one lap.

McLaren’s incredible run of form coupled with Ferrari’s big improvement since the summer break has somewhat relegated Mercedes down the order over one lap, despite George Russell qualifying on the front row last time out on Qatar, just ahead of his team mate in third. Lewis Hamilton has been vocal about his qualifying woes, which he will aim to put behind him this weekend at a track where he has three previous poles.

The odds for a podium finish

Sergio Perez has had his fair share of qualifying struggles this season, but he’s also managed some great recovery drives back to the podium. The Mexican hasn’t finished on the rostrum since Monza though, a fact he will want to put right this weekend.

Norris and Piastri are both chasing a third straight podium finish, while Russell still only has one rostrum to show for his season as a whole. Fernando Alonso’s early season form has also stalled, with the Spaniard only managing one podium this side of the summer break.

  • Max Verstappen 1.10

The odds for fastest lap

Watch out for Haas this weekend, with the American outfit having a very comprehensive package of upgrades almost amounting to a ‘B-Spec’ car. As such, they may well fancy a tilt at the fastest lap bonus point as they explore the possibilities of their upgraded VF-23, especially after losing out to Alfa Romeo in Qatar.

Alfa are now eighth in the constructors’ by the relatively healthy margin of four points, so if Haas could get a car home in the top 10 and grab the bonus point, they may well claw their way back into the reckoning in the constructors’.

  • Max Verstappen 1.50
  • Lando Norris 7.50
  • Oscar Piastri 9.00
  • Sergio Perez 13.0
  • George Russell, Lewis Hamilton 15.0
  • Carlos Sainz, Charles Leclerc 19.0
  • Fernando Alonso 26.0
  • Alex Albon 151
  • Daniel Ricciardo, Esteban Ocon, Kevin Magnussen, Lance Stroll, Logan Sargeant, Nico Hulkenberg, Pierre Gasly, Valtteri Bottas, Yuki Tsunoda, Zhou Guanyu 301

What are the odds for which team will take the most points?

Unsurprisingly given recent results, McLaren are now second favourites behind Red Bull to score the most points this weekend. There are more points on offer than usual as well, with the Sprint on Saturday awarding points to the top eight finishers.

Sainz and Hamilton will both want to make it the chequered flag, having not done so in Qatar, with the Spaniard not even making the start line. That hampered both Mercedes and Ferrari in their pursuit of second in the constructors’, which they will both be hoping to atone for this weekend.

  • Red Bull 1.15
  • McLaren 7.00
  • Mercedes 13.0
  • Ferrari 15.0
  • Aston Martin 51.0
  • Alpine 151
  • Alfa Romeo, AlphaTauri, Haas, Williams 301

The odds for a Safety Car appearing during the race

The Safety Car has made at least one appearance here in the past two races, although at least the weather shouldn’t come into play, with all three days of on-track action forecast to be dry. An inopportune Safety Car could well shuffle the order, which may well give the fans the sort of grandstand finish they enjoyed last year, when Verstappen hunted Hamilton down for the win with just a few laps left.
