Betting odds for the 2022 Monaco Grand Prix – Who might prevail around the Principality?
The jewel in the crown that is the Monaco Grand Prix is back this weekend, with Max Verstappen riding high after taking his third win on the bounce last time out. But all eyes will be on home hero Charles Leclerc, as he looks to finally break the curse that has afflicted him around the streets of Monte-Carlo since his Formula 2 days. He is still yet to see the chequered flag in his home race, and after a DNF last time out, desperately needs some points. But who do the odds favour?
188BET's odds are presented in decimal form: for every $1 wagered you would win the figure represented by the odds; so if Verstappen is favourite at 1.50, you would win $1.50 for every dollar bet.
The odds for the win
This race has seen four different winners the last four times it’s been held – with no race here in 2020. Unsurprisingly, the two current title protagonists are the favourites, although Leclerc actually edges Verstappen.
Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner has been saying that Monaco’s tight and twisty circuit with its slow speed corners should favour the Ferrari. Interestingly the Scuderia only have one win here in the last two decades – Sebastian Vettel’s triumph in 2017. Who do the odds have as most likely to take the victory?
• Charles Leclerc 2.00
• Max Verstappen 2.25
• Carlos Sainz, Sergio Perez, George Russell, Lewis Hamilton 17.0
• Lando Norris, Valtteri Bottas 301
• Daniel Ricciardo, Esteban Ocon, Fernando Alonso, Kevin Magnussen, Mick Schumacher 601
• Alexander Albon, Lance Stroll, Nicholas Latifi, Pierre Gasly, Yuki Tsunoda, Zhou Guanyu, Sebastian Vettel 901

The odds for who will be fastest in qualifying
Qualifying is a different kettle of fish at the moment, with Leclerc the most consistent performer. Four poles from six races in 2022, the Monegasque is certainly delivering the goods. He famously grabbed pole here last year before crashing on his second run in Q3, and then failed to start the race after late damage was found.
As for Verstappen, he has never been on pole in Monaco, but plenty in the field have. Here are the odds for qualifying…
• Charles Leclerc 2.00
• Max Verstappen 2.75
• Carlos Sainz 8.50
• George Russell, Sergio Perez 17.0
• Lewis Hamilton 19.0
• Valtteri Bottas 67.0
• Kevin Magnussen, Lando Norris 151
• Daniel Ricciardo, Fernando Alonso, Esteban Ocon, Pierre Gasly 301
• Yuki Tsunoda 601
• Alexander Albon, Lance Stroll, Mick Schumacher, Nicholas Latifi, Sebastian Vettel, Zhou Guanyu 901
The odds for a podium finish
Last year following an unusual race that included Valtteri Bottas retiring with a stuck-on wheel, the podium in Monaco featured race winner Verstappen, Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris. Those three could well feature again, although the likes of Sergio Perez would want to throw his hat in the ring following his strong drive last weekend in Spain.
As for Mercedes, Monaco hasn’t always been kind to them of late, Lewis Hamilton only managing seventh last year in a car that was fighting for the title. But he does have a string of strong results here from further back in his career – and is in a car that showed marked improvements last time out thanks to a raft of new upgrades…

The odds for fastest lap
Grabbing the bonus point for fastest lap in Monaco might take a slice of luck as well as speed, with traffic always an issue at the street circuit. If the front runners can manage to put together a lap that avoids any back markers, then the point is there for the taking – with Perez the recipient last time out.
With the lead of the championship now changing hands and looking every bit as tight as last year, those bonus points could be crucial so keep an eye on Leclerc and Verstappen come Sunday.
• Charles Leclerc 2.20
• Max Verstappen 2.75
• Carlos Sainz 9.00
• Lewis Hamilton, Sergio Perez 11.0
• George Russell 13.0
• Fernando Alonso, Valtteri Bottas 67.0

What are the odds for which team will take the most points?
Mercedes have leapfrogged the rest of the midfield following their strong showing in Spain, now clearly the third best team if you believe the odds. With Hamilton managing a strong drive from the back of the field and George Russell once again impressing in his rebranding from 'Mr Saturday' to 'Mr Consistent', it is easy to see why they are the third favourite to take home the most points.
Keep an eye on McLaren though, as both of their drivers tend to go well here. Former Monaco winner Daniel Ricciardo will be chasing a good result to make up for a disappointing one in Barcelona, while Norris would dearly love to grab another podium assuming he’s recovered from that nasty bout of tonsillitis.
• Ferrari 1.80
• Red Bull 2.00
• Mercedes 8.50
• Alfa Romeo, McLaren 151
• Alpine, Haas 301
• Alpha Tauri, Aston Martin 601
• Williams 901

The odds for a Safety Car appearing during the race
Monaco is a street circuit so by definition, Safety Cars should be more likely. But the organisers are exceptionally good at quickly removing stricken cars with cranes dotted around the circuit, so only time will tell as to whether a Safety Car appears to shake things up come race day.
• Yes 1.15
