Betting odds for the Mexico City Grand Prix – The favourites for pole, the podium and victory at this weekend’s race
Five races remain and Mexico City returns to the calendar for the first time since 2019 with Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton split by just 12 points. Who's favourite to make up ground at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez? Here's what the odds say.
188BET's odds are presented in decimal form: for every $1 wagered you would win the figure represented by the odds; so if Verstappen is favourite at 1.50, you would win $1.50 for every dollar bet.
TECH TUESDAY: With five races to go in 2021, which circuits will suit Red Bull, and which Mercedes?
The odds for the win
Verstappen took his first United States Grand Prix victory last time out to open up a 12-point lead in the standings over Hamilton, the Briton having briefly taken the lead at COTA before finishing second to the polesitter.
Hamilton won the last Grand Prix in Mexico amid controversial circumstances, when Verstappen was stripped of pole position having been deemed to have ignored yellow flags.
The Briton denied his Dutch rival a hat-trick of Mexico wins in 2019 but this time it looks like Verstappen is favourite to fight back. And what about a home victory for Sergio Perez?
Here are the odds:
- Max Verstappen 1.65
- Lewis Hamilton 2.85
- Sergio Perez 13.0
- Valtteri Bottas 19.0
- Charles Leclerc 34.0
- Lando Norris 51.0
- Carlos Sainz, Daniel Ricciardo 67.0
- George Russell, Pierre Gasly 151
- Esteban Ocon, Fernando Alonso, Mick Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel, Yuki Tsunoda 301
- Antonio Giovinazzi, Kimi Raikkonen, Nicholas Latifi, Nikita Mazepin, Lance Stroll 601
The odds for who will be fastest in qualifying
Verstappen took an emphatic pole last time out in the United States and as we mentioned before, he almost took pole position in Mexico two years ago before being denied for ignoring yellow flags.
As for Hamilton, his last pole position came seven Grands Prix ago at Hungary. Since then, Verstappen has taken four poles, Lando Norris one, and Valtteri Bottas one.
So it's no surprise that odds lean heavily towards Verstappen taking P1 on the grid here...
- Max Verstappen 1.65
- Lewis Hamilton 3.00
- Sergio Perez 13.0
- Valtteri Bottas 15.0
- Charles Leclerc 17.0
- Carlos Sainz 34.0
- Lando Norris 51.0
- Daniel Ricciardo 67.0
- Pierre Gasly 101
- George Russell 201
- Esteban Ocon, Fernando Alonso, Mick Schumacher, Sebastian Vettel, Yuki Tsunoda 251
- Antonio Giovinazzi, Kimi Raikkonen, Nicholas Latifi, Nikita Mazepin, Lance Stroll 601

Daniel Ricciardo took the point in Italy on his way to victory, while his McLaren team mate Lando Norris took fastest lap next time out in Russia. Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas took the accolade in Turkey.
Glaringly, Verstappen hasn't taken fastest lap since his dominant display in Austria – nine Grands Prix ago – and the Dutchman is due for one. But it's a difficult game; it needs a new set of tyres and a team to take the risk of a late pit stop here at Mexico City.
The odds for fastest lap are below.
- Max Verstappen 2.75
- Lewis Hamilton 2.90
- Sergio Perez, Valtteri Bottas 6.00
- Charles Leclerc 19.0
- Carlos Sainz 29.0
- Daniel Ricciardo, Lando Norris, Pierre Gasly 41.0
- George Russell 101
- Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel, Esteban Ocon, Lance Stroll, Yuki Tsunoda, Mick Schumacher, Antonio Giovinazzi, Kimi Raikkonen, Nicholas Latifi, Nikita Mazepin 251
What are the odds for which team will take the most points?
Red Bull have taken 80 points – 40 per weekend – in the last two Grands Prix, out-scoring Mercedes by 35 to almost level the constructors' championship. In fact, Ferrari scored 18 points last time out, as much as Mercedes, to move ahead of McLaren in the battle for third overall. Who will reign supreme in Brazil?
- Red Bull 1.35
- Mercedes 3.00
- Ferrari 21.0
- McLaren 34.0
- AlphaTauri 41.0
- Williams 101
- Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin 201
- Alpine, Haas 251
