Betting odds for the Styrian Grand Prix – Can Red Bull make it four wins on the trot this weekend?

Part two of F1’s first triple header of the year kicks off this weekend at the Styrian Grand Prix, taking place at the fabulous Red Bull Ring. So, ahead of the action, let’s see how the odds are looking, courtesy of 188BET.

The odds for the win

Max Verstappen took his second win in three races at the French Grand Prix, effected by a late pass on Lewis Hamilton. Despite Verstappen’s current form though, he and Hamilton are even stevens in the betting for victory, Hamilton having won the Styrian Grand Prix last year.

It’s worth noting, though, that since Valtteri Bottas joined Mercedes in 2017, the Finn has twice won here, so shouldn’t be ruled out if he can have a smooth weekend – and could be good value given his much longer odds than Hamilton and Verstappen.

The odds for pole position

Having beaten Mercedes to pole at the Circuit Paul Ricard, Verstappen has the favourite status for this weekend’s qualifying as well, the Red Bull driver narrowly ahead of Lewis Hamilton in the betting.

It’s Bottas, however, who’s taken the most poles in the last five races at the Red Bull Ring, the Finn with three to his name, while Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc bagged the other two. Despite that, Bottas’ up-and-down current form means he sits someway distant in the running here.

The odds for a podium finish

George Russell has never scored a single point for Williams. But despite that, the Briton's odds are reasonably short this weekend not only for taking points but making it all the way to the podium as well. Now those would be some serious scenes.

Less surprisingly, at the front, Verstappen, Hamilton, Bottas and Sergio Perez are the four most fancied drivers for a rostrum appearance, while Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc’s pricing reflects their 2020 appearances on the Austrian Grand Prix podium.

The odds for fastest lap

Just three drivers – Verstappen, Bottas and Hamilton – have taken fastest laps this year, with Verstappen the favourite to do so this weekend after claiming the honours at the French Grand Prix.

Bear in mind, though, that at the Red Bull Ring pair of races last year, it was the then McLaren pairing – Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz respectively – who took fastest lap at the Austrian and Styrian Grands Prix, so they could be worth a punt.

What are the odds for which team will take the most points?

The momentum has ebbed and flowed between Mercedes and Red Bull so far this year, with Red Bull having scored more points than their rivals on four occasions, Mercedes having come out on top in the other three.

That sees the two teams tied in the betting as favourites for the Styrian Grand Prix, with McLaren a distant third, the papaya team having reclaimed P3 in the constructors’ last weekend at Paul Ricard as Ferrari failed to score at all.
