SAO PAULO, BRAZIL - OCTOBER 31: Valtteri Bottas of Finland and Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber walks in

Valtteri Bottas believes that he “did the job” last time out in Mexico in terms of proving to Kick Sauber why he deserves to retain his seat in 2025, with the Finn admitting that he “can’t do more” with the car to showcase his abilities.

The 2024 campaign has been a tough one for the team, having so far failed to score any points with just four races remaining to break their duck. Despite this, Bottas previously spoke positively about the squad having seemingly taken a step forward after being able to fight with their rivals in the Mexico City Grand Prix.

Asked during media day at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix if he was tired of facing questions on his future – and if there were any further updates on the situation – Bottas joked: “Yeah, a little bit tired about it! I’m sure you as well maybe!

“I feel like I did the job in Mexico and at the moment I really can’t do more with this car and showcase more what I can do than what I’m doing at the moment, so all I can do is wait.”

And when pushed on whether he is confident that he will get the answer he is hoping for some time soon, the 35-year-old added: “The thing with this sport is you never know what’s happening in the background.
