#CanadianGP - the best social media from Montreal

Sunday's Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada 2017 had no shortage of drama on track, but there was also plenty going on behind the scenes in the build-up to the race weekend. Here's our round-up of just a few of the highlights...

With news that the famous F1 teams raft race was being revived in Montreal (more on that later), the Red Bull drivers decided they had to go one better and include the word 'rapid' in their own off-shore excursion. To the Max!

It never fails: show an F1 driver a new motorised vehicle and he just has to try it - even if it moves at a snail-like pace as it resurfaces ice! This was an added bonus for Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas when he went to indulge his love of ice hockey with the Montreal Canadiens.

Fernando Alonso said a McLaren victory this season would keep him at the team for 2018. Does this count?

He brings something special to every role he plays - and Sir Patrick Stewart certainly brought an element of the surreal to Sunday's podium interviews. He was even game enough to indulge Daniel Ricciardo in his infamous race-boot ritual.

Renault recruit new fan

Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard got her first taste of F1 racing in Montreal - and we're guessing she'll be back for more.

Not 'Where's Wally?'...

...but 'Find Fernando!' Okay, the green arrow helps slightly, but the sight of the two-time champion climbing into the crowds to give away his gloves after his late-race retirement is certainly an unusual one.

Super Swedes

Sauber's Marcus Ericsson had some special home support in Montreal courtesy of comptriot Erik Karlsson, captain of the Ottawa Senators National Hockey League team.
