The first qualifying session at the newly remodeled Circuit Zandvoort proved to be a thriller, with two red flag periods in Q2 alone and plenty of shocks up and down the field. While Max Verstappen delighted the home crowd with yet another pole, his team mate couldn’t even make it out of Q1. • This was Max Verstappen’s sixth pole in the last seven races.

• Verstappen is sharing the front row with Lewis Hamilton for the sixth time this season – and the first time since that opening lap collision at Silverstone.
