Major changes have been made to the French Grand Prix with Eric Boullier named as Managing Director, while the event has also outlined a “mobility plan” to help fans attend the Grand Prix at the Circuit Paul Ricard.

Boullier served as engineer for junior single-seater squads DAMS and Racing Engineering before becoming head of the Renault/Lotus F1 Team in 2010. In 2014 he joined McLaren as Competition Director, leaving the role in 2018.

Having helped the French Grand Prix return to the calendar in 2018, Boullier joined the French GP organisation in February 2019 as Strategic Sports and Operational Advisor, also serving as Ambassador for the Grand Prix. He will now have a bigger hand in the event’s running.

He said: "I am happy and proud to be more involved in this beautiful project that is the Formula 1 Grand Prix de France. I look forward to continuing to contribute to the success of this great motor sport event on French soil. I would like to thank [French GP President] Christian Estrosi and the GIP Grand Prix de France – Le Castellet for their trust.”

Their first order of business is the 2020 race on June 28, with a “mobility plan” set out to help fans attending the event. Those changes include an extension to the park and ride shuttle service range, a larger campsite, improvements to local traffic routes, a possible ‘priority lane’ and reserved car park for those who are carpooling.
