If you've not already been playing F1 Fantasy this year, this is a great opportunity to start. The league officially opens from today (August 15), and while players can enter at any time before Qualifying begins in Abu Dhabi later this season, players joining before next weekend's Dutch Grand Prix qualifying session will have the best chance to win prizes.

The new league includes the final 10 races of the season, including three F1 Sprint events with even more points available, and existing F1 Fantasy players can also enter for a fresh start to their current campaign.

F1 Fantasy is free to play, and new players who join between now and the start of the F1 qualifying session in Zandvoort will automatically be included in the league. Current players will need to click on the ‘leagues’ tab, click 'mini leagues', and then click ‘join’ on the ‘Zandvoort to Abu Dhabi League’.

How do I play F1 Fantasy?

First, head over to F1 Fantasy – either online or in the dedicated section on the official F1 app. With $100M in your pocket, assemble your team of five drivers and two constructors.

Points will be awarded/deducted based on the Driver/Constructor’s performance at the Grand Prix, and you can score additional points if drivers or constructors set the Fastest Lap or Fastest Pit Stop. Head over to the F1 Fantasy Game Rules page for a detailed points breakdown.

Pick one driver in your team to receive the DRS Boost, which will double their score for that Grand Prix and, just like a real F1 team might bring car upgrades to an event, decide if you want play one of your chips to add something more to your team. These chips are limited and can only be used once during the whole season, so think carefully before you use them! You'll have two free transfers ahead of every race. If you make more than the two transfers, each additional transfer will incur a 10-point penalty for your team, while a maximum of one unused free transfer will carry over to the next race.
