Before this year, Max Verstappen had never once stood on the famous Monza podium – but that all changed on Sunday when the Red Bull racer shrugged off a grid penalty to seal yet another win as his remarkable season continues.

Tom Clarkson was there to see it all unfold and on this week's F1 Nation podcast he's joined by L’Equipe journalist Fred Ferret and paddock legend – and F1.com's technical illustrator – Giorgio Piola to pick the bones out of Verstappen's Italian Grand Prix victory.

The Dutchman made it five wins in a row on Sunday – and 11 in total this season – when he delighted his own fans but disappointed the massed tifosi at the famous old Monza circuit by beating Ferrari's Charles Leclerc to the top step of that amazing podium.

Tom, Fred and Giorgio dive into just how good Verstappen has been driving this year, and tackle all the other talking points from the race in Italy.

Along the way they're joined by Ferrari's Marc Gene, McLaren's Lando Norris, legendary F1 engine designer Mario Illien, and of course the man who scored points on his F1 debut, Nyck de Vries – as well as the Williams team boss Jost Capito.
