From then on, the Ferrari Driver Academy member led every lap of the race, resisting the attacks of the Red Bull Junior prospect Martí on his way to sealing a well-earned victory.
Martí was forced to settle for P2, but it is a welcomed return to the podium for the Spaniard who had not finished in the top three since the opening weekend of the season in Bahrain.
Championship leader Paul Aron took his seventh podium of the year after finishing third. The Hitech Pulse-Eight driver defended from the McLaren-backed Gabriel Bortoleto for multiple laps to secure another trophy and to extend his lead over Campos’ Isack Hadjar to 16 points.
Sunday’s Feature Race pole-sitter Dennis Hauger ran a strong race to finish in fifth for MP Motorsport ahead of DAMS Lucas Oil’s Jak Crawford in sixth. Alpine Academy driver Maini overcame his struggles to place seventh while AIX Racing’s Joshua Duerksen took the final point in P8.
