Ferrari fire up new F1 car for first time ahead of 2024 season
Ferrari have moved a step closer to kicking off their 2024 season by sharing a video of the SF-24 being fired up.
A few days on from the bombshell announcement that Lewis Hamilton will be joining Ferrari in 2025, the Scuderia brought the attention back to the upcoming campaign with Tuesday’s social media clip.
A special sequence shows the sun rising over Maranello and staff arriving at their famous headquarters, before the sound of Ferrari’s latest F1 challenger comes to life to get fans’ hearts racing.
Ferrari are set to present the SF-24 to the world on Tuesday, February 13, with the team looking to build on their P3 finish in last year’s constructors’ standings and challenge for a first world title since the 2008 season.
Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz will continue as team mates for a fourth consecutive term, though Hamilton’s decision to leave Mercedes and head to Ferrari will see the Spaniard make way at the end of the year.
Ferrari have also been in action at their Fiorano test track on Tuesday, with new development driver Arthur Leclerc – brother of Charles – driving the 2022-specification F1-75 this morning, followed by Sainz this afternoon.
