Formula 1 and the FIA have confirmed F1 has gone another full week with zero positive tests for Covid-19 among personnel working at the Red Bull Ring.

The Austrian circuit is hosting two Grands Prix back-to-back as the 2020 season gets underway, and ahead of last week's race, F1 and the FIA revealed more than 4,000 tests had been carried out among staff at the track, with no positive results.

And on Friday before the Styrian Grand Prix, F1 confirmed over 4,500 tests had been taken by personnel working at the circuit in the last seven days, again with zero positive results.

"The FIA and Formula 1 can today confirm that between Friday 3rd July and Thursday 9th July, 4566 tests for COVID-19 have been performed on drivers, teams and personnel. Of these, zero people have tested positive," a statement said.

"The FIA and Formula 1 are providing this aggregated information for the purposes of competition integrity and transparency. No specific details as to teams or individuals will be provided by the FIA or Formula 1 and results will be made public every 7 days."

As part of the safety measures put in place, any personnel attending a race are tested for Covid-19 before travelling (using private testing services) and must produce a negative result before they can enter the track.

They are then being tested every five days, using private medical teams, during events, along with extra screening – including on arrival to the circuit. Inside the track, stringent measures have been put in place in a bid to keep all F1 personnel safe.
