Haas sign American racer Courtney Crone for 2025 F1 ACADEMY campaign

Haas have become the latest team to confirm their 2025 F1 ACADEMY plans, with the American team choosing to field compatriot Courtney Crone in the all-female racing series.

The 23-year-old previously made her F1 ACADEMY debut as the Wild Card entry for Round 2 in Miami, narrowly finishing outside the points in Race 2.

Currently competing in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North American Championship, Crone has also previously raced across multiple disciplines such as speedway motorcycles, dirt and pavement USAC Midget and Sprint Cars, LMP3 prototypes, and various junior Formula Cars.

Delighted at joining the grid, and to be racing with ART Grand Prix, Crone said: “I’m incredibly honoured to be joining the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team for the 2025 F1 ACADEMY season. Representing America’s F1 team is a dream come true, and I’m beyond grateful for this opportunity.

“Ever since I competed with the F1 ACADEMY at the Miami Grand Prix as a Wild Card entrant, it’s been a goal of mine to race full-time in the series. That experience gave me a taste of the challenge and devotion it will take to become a championship contender. Making the most of this incredible opportunity is my number one priority and together with MoneyGram Haas F1 Team, I feel I have the best chance for success.”

Crone's achievements include winning the 2023/2024 IMSA Diverse Driver Development Scholarship and the 2021 Gorsline Company Scholarship. She is also a three-time winner of the Women’s Sports Foundation/Project Podium with Lyn St. James award (2016, 2017, 2018), and a three-time VMB Driver Development scholarship winner (2017, 2018, 2020).

Haas took the opportunity to thank outgoing driver Chloe Chambers — who will be representing Red Bull Ford on the 2025 grid — for her hard work across the season, including a maiden victory in Barcelona Race 2.
