Hamilton ‘could not be more excited’ as he shares first message as a Ferrari driver
Lewis Hamilton has stated that he “could not be more excited” about the year ahead in his first message as a Ferrari driver, with the seven-time world champion hailing reinvention as “powerful”.
After his 12-year partnership with Mercedes came to a close at the end of 2024, Hamilton is now ready to embark on the next chapter at the Scuderia, having updated his LinkedIn profile with his new role at the team.
The Briton also wrote a message reflecting on what 2025 could bring as he vowed to make it “one to remember”.
Alongside a photo of himself racing as a child with a red helmet on, Hamilton’s post read: “I could not be more excited for the year ahead. Moving to Scuderia Ferrari, there’s a lot to reflect on.
“To anyone considering their next move in 2025: embrace the change. Whether you're switching industries, learning a new skill, or even just taking on new challenges, remember that reinvention is powerful.
“Your next opportunity is always within reach. Here’s to 2025 – a year of embracing new opportunities, staying hungry, and driving forward with purpose. Let’s make it one to remember. Andiamo.”
Hamilton also added the hashtag “new job” along with emojis of a red car and a heart.
Lewis Hamilton signs for Ferrari in 2025
The message marks the beginning of Hamilton’s Ferrari era, with the 39-year-old having signed to the team on a multi-year deal in a move that shocked the F1 world when it was announced back in February 2024.
While it is not yet clear when Hamilton will first get behind the wheel for his new team, boss Fred Vasseur recently confirmed to F1.com: “We will have a couple of test days with TPC [testing of previous cars] and Pirelli [tyre test running] before Bahrain.”
The team’s 2025 car will be unveiled on February 19, one day after the sport’s season launch takes place at London’s The O2 to mark its 75th anniversary.
