There was action aplenty in second practice for the Portuguese Grand Prix on Friday afternoon as first a fire and then a high-speed collision halted the session at the Portimao circuit.
Halfway through FP2 Pierre Gasly was forced to park up and hop out of his AlphaTauri in rather a hurry when flames were spotted coming from the rear of his car, with the marshals soon attacking the blaze with fire extinguishers.
Running then got back underway, only for the race director to again have to throw the red flags when Lance Stroll and Max Verstappen collided at Turn 1.
FP2 REPORT: Bottas quickest again as Verstappen and Stroll collide in Portimao
In amongst all that, Valtteri Bottas followed up his time sheet-topping performance in FP1 to go quickest again, while McLaren and Ferrari also impressed, the old rivals getting both of their cars into the top six. Championship leader Lewis Hamilton ended up just eighth quickest as he struggled to get his W11 set up to his liking.
