Mercedes confidently established themselves as the team to beat for the second time in practice for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, as Lewis Hamilton and George Russell sandwiched Lando Norris in the late-night FP2 session.
As both qualifying simulations and long runs took place across the hour, it was Hamilton who set the pace with a time of 1m 33.825s, topping the timesheets once again after bettering his lap from FP1.

The McLaren of Norris was marginally behind by 0.011s with Russell slotting into P3 to leave Mercedes the strongest team of the day around the low-grip circuit. Ferrari were similarly consistent in P4 and P5 as Carlos Sainz led Charles Leclerc.
There were also promising signs for the midfield teams as Pierre Gasly, both Haas cars and Yuki Tsunoda all claimed a spot in the top 10.
Elsewhere, championship leader Max Verstappen, who could seal his fourth title this weekend, was resigned to P17 after he focused on finding pace on the medium tyres while his Red Bull team mate Sergio Perez found himself even further back in P19.
