Red Bull’s Max Verstappen is a four-time Formula 1 world champion, after the Dutch driver claimed P5 in the Las Vegas Grand Prix – seeing off the title charge of McLaren’s Lando Norris, as Mercedes driver George Russell claimed an assured victory in Nevada.
Norris needed to outscore Verstappen by three points at the Las Vegas Strip Circuit in order to keep his slim title hopes alive. But ultimately he was unable to do anything to stop Verstappen on an evening where the McLaren was far from the fastest car, ultimately coming home in the P6 position he started in.

While all eyes were on Verstappen claiming a fourth title – only the sixth driver to achieve four or more titles in F1 history – Russell from pole position put in a flawless drive for his third career win, leading home team mate Lewis Hamilton for a Mercedes one-two.
