The first Mexican driver ever to take pole position in Formula 1, Sergio Perez snatched P1 on the grid on his final effort around the Jeddah Corniche Circuit. Watch how qualifying unfolded right here.
Qualifying began with Nicholas Latifi walking away from a high-speed crash, before Lewis Hamilton's struggles became apparent and he was eliminated in Q1 for the first time since 2017.

Ferrari were on the pace in Q1 and again in Q2 thanks to Carlos Sainz – after a lengthy red flag flown for a heavy crash for Mick Schumacher. The Haas driver was conscious but taken to hospital for precautionary checks, Team Principal Guenther Steiner saying that he had "no visible injuries" and was speaking.
In Q3, pole position seemed to be Ferrari's – until Perez put in a stunning effort to take P1 for the first time, after 215 attempts.
