HIGHLIGHTS: Watch the action as Verstappen stages remarkable comeback in Sao Paulo while Alpine claim double podium

Max Verstappen ended his winless drought in superb fashion at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix as he stormed from P17 on the grid to take victory ahead of the unexpected podium finishers of Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly.
It was a frenetic race at a rain-affected track with countless yellow flags and detrimental crashes for Franco Colapinto and Carlos Sainz, but Verstappen came out on top after charging through the field to take his first Grand Prix win since June by 19.477s.
After starting on pole, Lando Norris lost the lead on the opening lap to the Mercedes of George Russell, but it was the later Safety Car restart that saw him resigned to P6 as he went wide before his McLaren team mate let him back past.
Russell challenged for the podium in the final laps but was unable to get the better of Gasly, granting Alpine their best finish by far this season and launching them from P9 to P6 in the constructors’ standings.
Elsewhere, Charles Leclerc slotted into P5 ahead of Norris as Yuki Tsunoda leapfrogged Oscar Piastri, with the Australian handed a 10-second penalty. Liam Lawson and Lewis Hamilton rounded out the top 10.
