HIGHLIGHTS: Watch the action from a wet qualifying session in Montreal, as Verstappen dominates in the rain

Max Verstappen was his brilliant best in qualifying at Montreal, with the championship leader producing on a dominant performance to take pole position ahead of tomorrow's Canadian Grand Prix.
At an extremely wet Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Verstappen set a last lap of 1m 21.299s, on the intermediate tyre, to lead the Alpine of Fernando Alonso, in second, by 0.645s. Carlos Sainz in the Ferrari was 0.797s behind Verstappen in third, with Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes in fourth.
It was a great day for Haas, with Kevin Magnussen and Mick Schumacher qualifying in fifth and sixth respectively, ahead of Esteban Ocon in seventh. George Russell qualified in eighth – after an attempt to set a last lap on the soft tyre ended with him spinning at Turn 2. Daniel Ricciardo qualified in ninth, with Zhou Guanyu qualifying in the top 10 for the first time in his F1 career.

It was a qualifying session to forget for Sergio Perez, who was the only driver to bring out the red flags in the session, after the Mexican driver crashed into the barrier in Q2.
