Budapest’s tight and twisting Hungaroring circuit threw up some fascinating racing over the Formula 1 Magyar Nagydij 2016 weekend. However, there was also plenty going on behind the scenes in the build-up to the Grand Prix. Here's our social media round-up of just a few of the highlights...

And the winner is...

Between the British and Hungarian rounds, Red Bull's Max Verstappen found time to visit Brisighella in Italy and collect the Lorenzo Bandini Trophy, awarded annually for outstanding performance in motorsport.

While Verstappen was busy collecting awards, world champion Lewis Hamilton was getting some rest and relaxation on the high seas.

Esteban Gutierrez had to give up his Haas for opening practice to Friday driver Charles Leclerc. This was his revenge.

In the swim

McLaren also had some local celebrity support in the form of Budapest-born swimming star Daniel Gyurta.
