Friday practice in Russia had the rare honour of featuring no less than three Mexican drivers, with Force India's Sergio Perez, team tester Alfonso Celis, and Haas's Esteban Gutierrez all taking to the Sochi Autodrom.
Red Bull on the slide
Local hero Daniil Kvyat headed up into the Krasnaya Polyana mountain range and to the Sanki Sliding Centre, home of Sochi’s Olympic bobsleigh run, where he spent a day with the Gold medal-winning Russian national bobsleigh team. They even found him one with appropriate livery.
Fan-tastic
No prizes for guessing who is this Russian fan's F1 hero. Lewis Hamilton was suitably impressed.
Getting into the Olympic spirit
Daniil Kvyat wasn't the only one celebrating Russia's Olympic heritage. Manor rookie Rio Haryanto couldn't resist snapping this souvenir shot in Sochi.
