IN PHOTOS: Check out the special driver helmets and car liveries for the British Grand Prix weekend
It’s a particularly busy weekend for driver helmet and car livery changes at the British Grand Prix with a host of striking designs on display at the Silverstone Circuit. We’ve rounded up the lot for your viewing pleasure below…
Lando Norris
With McLaren moving to a part-chrome livery as a nod to their past, driver Lando Norris has followed suit via a shiny helmet design of his own, meaning he’ll be easy for the home fans to spot as he charges his way around the track.
Fernando Alonso
Given that Aston Martin are based just a few hundred metres away from the circuit, and given their rich history in motorsport, Fernando Alonso has gone for a paint scheme paying tribute to the team’s first F1 car from the 1950s: the DBR4.
Valtteri Bottas
Valtteri Bottas is running a boldly British design this weekend after an online vote settled the matter in favour of a creation from his partner, Tiffany Cromwell.
Esteban Ocon
Esteban Ocon, meanwhile, has thanked the Alpine workforce by covering his helmet with the names of every employee, along with the coordinates of the squad’s Enstone and Viry-Chatillon factories.

Pierre Gasly
On the other side of the Alpine garage, Pierre Gasly is sporting a helmet design adorned with Union Jack flags, along with nods to the aforementioned Enstone and Viry.
Williams
Williams were set to celebrate their 800th Grand Prix at Silverstone, but with the Emilia Romagna weekend not going ahead, the moment will officially arrive in Hungary. However, the Grove outfit are still running a special livery to mark the occasion.
McLaren
As touched on with Norris above, McLaren are also running a one-off scheme with a nod to their fan-favourite chrome livery – which they ran from 2006 and 2014 – under the team’s year-long 60th anniversary celebrations.
