NORTHAMPTON, ENGLAND - JULY 04: Kevin Magnussen of Denmark and Haas F1 looks on in the Paddock

Kevin Magnussen is keeping his options for the future open amid his impending exit from Haas at the end of 2024, with the Dane admitting that other categories of motorsport could be of interest should he be unable to find a seat in F1.

It was confirmed in July that Magnussen will part ways with Haas come the end of the season, marking the close of a long relationship between the two parties which saw them first race together between 2017 and 2020.

While Magnussen spent a year away from the sport in 2021, the 31-year-old returned to the American outfit in 2022 and has since raced alongside Nico Hulkenberg during the last two seasons.

However, the squad will field an all-new line-up in 2025 consisting of rookie Oliver Bearman and Alpine’s Esteban Ocon, with Hulkenberg moving to Kick Sauber while Magnussen’s next destination has not yet been decided.

The Danish driver has previously stated his desire to remain in Formula 1, and Mercedes, Alpine, RB and Kick Sauber all have one remaining seat for next year.

But, when asked during the Belgian Grand Prix weekend if the likes of the World Endurance Championship and IndyCar would appeal should he not secure an opportunity in F1, Magnussen responded: “Yeah, all of the above. I think everything is on the table in that case.

“So, yeah, it's hard to... I'll see what's available out there and make my mind when I get there. Right now, I'm in Formula 1 and there's still a couple of seats open for next year that I'd like to see where all that ends up, and then look at things afterwards.”

Haas Team Principal Ayao Komatsu spoke of the team’s “special relationship” with Magnussen in the statement announcing his departure, adding that he hoped to “find a way to keep working together in some capacity”.

As such, Magnussen remains focused on continuing the squad’s recent positive trajectory during his last races with the team, with the Dane hopeful that they can keep their “good trend” going in the latter half of 2024.

Haas currently hold seventh place in the constructors' standings on 27 points, putting them just seven points behind RB in sixth.
