Carlos Sainz’s impressive victory from pole in his Ferrari might have been more hard-fought – but for Max Verstappen.
Although Sainz ambushed his way past the Red Bull on the ninth lap, after having lost out to it off the start line, it was Verstappen’s subsequent compromising of Lando Norris’ race which ultimately kept the super-fast McLaren from being able to put Sainz under more pressure.
