MUST-SEE: Dramatic Gasly and Norris contact brings out Safety Car in Miami GP
Share
Contact between Lando Norris and Pierre Gasly as the Miami Grand Prix was entering its final stages saw Norris exit the race in dramatic fashion, having lost his right-rear tyre.
On Lap 41 of 57, AlphaTauri’s Gasly had just run wide at Turn 7 when he re-emerged onto the track side-by-side with Norris. The pair made contact, with Norris spun around violently, as his right-rear Pirelli was pulled off the rim – with McLaren team mate Daniel Ricciardo having to avoid running into the rolling rubber, as a Virtual Safety Car and then full Safety Car was called out.
