Norris and Sainz to wear personally designed helmets for World Mental Health Day
McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz are wearing special, multicoloured helmets this weekend to raise awareness of World Mental Health Day with the F1 team's charity partner Mind – and they've helped raised £70,000 for the charity in the process.
Sainz and Norris painted their own helmets back at the British Grand Prix, however, those original helmets are not the ones they will be wearing this weekend.

Instead, a prize draw was created for fans to win those helmets, and £70,250 was raised for Mind by F1 fans. The pair will instead wear replicas of their helmets, homologated to stringent FIA standards, for the Eifel Grand Prix weekend at the Nurburgring.
Sainz said in a video on Twitter: "Yep, this is the final product – you might remember that a while ago, during the British Grand Prix, we painted both helmets ourselves. Now we’ve replicated them just to make sure we support our charity partner, Mind, and you can clearly see that they’ve been painted by us…"

Another prize draw on November 29 will be launched to give fans to win the drivers' race-worn helmets and support Mind via a donation. Since July, McLaren have raised nearly £200,000 in partnership with Mind to help those suffering from mental health issues.
"The coronavirus pandemic continues to have a huge impact on mental health for millions around the world," said McLaren's managing director of sales and marketing, Mark Waller.
"Advocacy of better mental health is something we critically value at McLaren and continuously strive to educate ourselves about, to provide the necessary support to our people."
