OFFICIAL GRID: Advantage McLaren as Ferraris aim for fast starts at Monza
Share
For the second race in succession, Lando Norris will start from pole position when the lights go out at Monza, with McLaren having locked out the front row for Ferrari’s home Grand Prix. Meanwhile, the man he’s chasing for the 2024 title – Red Bull’s Max Verstappen – is only seventh on the grid.
The Tifosi will still be in good spirits – the scarlet cars of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz line up fourth and fifth behind Norris, the sister McLaren of Oscar Piastri and the Mercedes of George Russell, whose team mate Lewis Hamilton completes the top six.
Then comes world champion Verstappen and team mate Sergio Perez, with Alex Albon and Nico Hulkenberg rounding out the top 10 after superb qualifying performances for Williams and Haas respectively.
And talking of Williams, look out for their new driver Franco Colapinto, who starts his debut Grand Prix from P18 ahead of the Kick Saubers of Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu.
