Perez to start British GP from pit lane after Red Bull change parts on his car following Sprint spin
Sergio Perez concisely answered the question about whether or not he was going to go for it in the first ever F1 Sprint, the Mexican going for it so much that he spun out of Chapel on Lap 5 and fell down the order. And following that dramatic spin, the Red Bull racer will start from the pit lane for the British Grand Prix after his team were forced to change parts on the car.
Perez will take on a new control electronics and energy store for Sunday’s race – changes that would have necessitated him to start from the back of the grid, after he was retired from the F1 Sprint on the final lap.
But with Red Bull having also been forced to change the Mexican’s rear wing, as well alter the set-up of his suspension and the cooling of the front brakes, Perez will now be required to start from the pit lane.
