George Russell made a perfect start to the British Grand Prix as he confidently converted pole position into the lead at the first corner, heading the pack along with Mercedes team mate Lewis Hamilton.
Behind, there were flashbacks to Austria as McLaren’s Lando Norris and Red Bull’s Max Verstappen went wheel-to-wheel, having shared the second row of the grid, with the latter managing to slip ahead at The Loop.

There was some drama elsewhere, as Williams driver Alex Albon tagged the back of Fernando Alonso’s Aston Martin, while Pierre Gasly failed to take the start due to a suspected gearbox issue aboard his Alpine.
