Renault junior Oscar Piastri got his title bid back on track in Formula 3, with his first win since the opening round of the season, in Race 2 at the Spanish Grand Prix.
In doing so, Piastri closed the gap between himself and championship leader Logan Sargeant to just one point, with three rounds to go.

Race winner Oscar Piastri PREMA Racing, second place Alex Peroni of Campos Racing and third place Matteo Nannini of Jenzer Motorsport celebrate on the podium during race two of the Formula 3 Championship at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya
Piastri put in the hard yards at the start, coming out on top of a mega five-car brawl for first on the opening lap. Richard Verschoor and Alex Peroni had both momentarily taken the lead from polesitter Matteo Nannini, but none of them could compete with the pace of Piastri’s PREMA, who emerged ahead of them all at the exit of Turn 4.
Piastri survived two Safety Car restarts to close out a controlled victory, ahead of Peroni and Nannini, who held on for a maiden podium in F3. The Renault junior would have taken the Championship lead, were it not for a fierce drive from Sargeant as well, with the PREMA leaping four places from ninth to fifth.
