It was like hell...

Red Bull's Daniil Kvyat offers a rather dramatic appraisal of his race

“Front wing. Should be okay, should be okay… No it’s not!” (Daniil Kvyat)

“Is Fernando okay?” (Jenson Button)
Red Bull’s Daniil Kvyat suffers damage in the opening lap melee, while Jenson Button has a front row seat for McLaren team mate Fernando Alonso’s clash with Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen.

“How did he get so far ahead? What’s the reason you didn’t pit me?” (Hamilton)

(Shortly after) “We have a penalty for crossing the white line at exit…” (Mercedes)
Lewis Hamilton vents his frustration after seeing Nico Rosberg extend his lead by two seconds during the pit stops - and is then given further bad news by Mercedes…

“Vibration getting stronger and stronger. And it’s not a flat spot. All eyes on that okay, all eyes on that.”
With victory in sight, Nico Rosberg gets a tad panicky over a vibration issue in the closing laps of the race.

“It was like hell.”
Daniil Kvyat gives a rather dramatic assessment of his race after opening lap damage severely compromised the handling of his Red Bull RB11.

Not bad for an old man!

Felipe Massa responds to some gentle ribbing from Williams after sealing his first podium of the season

“Well done Pastor. Wow. Absolutely brilliant.” Lotus come over all gobsmacked after Pastor Maldonado survives some slightly hairy moments to grab seventh from Max Verstappen in the closing stages.

“Don’t worry guys, these things can happen. No way to pass Massa, I tried everything.” (Vettel)

“I’m so happy with how I raced. Not bad for an old man!” (Massa, laughing)
Sebastian Vettel tells Ferrari to not dwell on their slow pit stop - while 34-year-old Felipe Massa plays along with a ribbing from the Williams pit wall after sealing his first podium finish of the season.

“Rosberg P1, Hamilton second…” (Ferrari)

“Ah, surprise surprise.” (Vettel)
It is Vettel’s turn for dry humour after Ferrari inform him of the final classification…

“What? How the **** is that possible?!”
…which is in stark contrast to Kimi Raikkonen’s typically forthright appraisal of his team after he is eliminated in the first part of qualifying.

There’s hope for us yet...

McLaren's Jenson Button responds wryly to news that he's quick in the wet

“Oh come on! Daniel!”
Kvyat isn’t best pleased after being held up by Red Bull team mate Daniel Ricciardo as the pair fight to progress out of Q1.

“Okay Jenson that’s P1...”

“…I’m afraid that’s P17, and we are out.”
As conditions improve wildly in Q1, Jenson Button’s engineer has the unusual honour of telling the McLaren driver that he’s dropped from 1st to 17th in a matter of minutes.

“How many changes do you want me to do? Can I just focus on driving, or…”
Lewis Hamilton not so subtly tells his Mercedes team that he’d rather not make further settings adjustments during FP1.

“It’s very slippery, but I don’t care. We need to run.” (Carlos Sainz)

“Jesus, it’s super slippery. But we should do some running and get a feel.” (Nico Hulkenberg)
The heavens open and the track turns almost to ice in FP3, but the majority of the field opt to run despite the treacherous conditions.

“Pace in the wet is good. You’re in the top three.” (McLaren)

“There’s hope for us yet then.” (Button)
Button responds in typically wry style as he uncovers a rare bright spot for McLaren under the dark clouds of FP3.
