TECH WEEKLY: How crucial updates from McLaren and Mercedes brought the 2024 season to life
Although the signs from the first few races suggested that 2024 was going to be a straightforward repeat of the Max Verstappen/Red Bull domination of the previous two years, two key upgrades in May – one each from McLaren and Mercedes – have brought the season to life.
The McLaren upgrade introduced in Miami and that of Mercedes (spread over the Monaco and Canada weekends) have brought them within striking range of the Red Bull, with both cars since recording pole positions and victories.
