They're good friends and former team mates, and both hail from the Antipodes, so who better to share racing stories from their varied careers than THE ROOKIE, Brendon Hartley, and F1 race winner Mark Webber?

Brendon on choosing his number

Like most F1 drivers, Brendon started his career racing go-karts as a young boy in New Zealand. So when it came to choosing his F1 race number, there was only ever going to be one choice...

Mark on breaking his duck

In 2009, Webber won the first of his nine career F1 victories, in Germany. Despite suffering a drive-through penalty (and despite having metal rods inserted into his legs only months earlier following a mountain bike crash), Mark stood atop the podium ahead of Sebastian Vettel and Felipe Massa.

Brendon on making his 'home' debut

It may have been only his fifth F1 start, but it felt like the first. Brendon recalls the 2018 Australian Grand Prix - almost his home race - with the fondest of memories.

Mark on team orders

During the 2013 Malaysian Grand Prix, Mark went wheel-to-wheel with Red Bull team mate Sebastian Vettel. The incident would famously be remembered as “Multi 21” - the coded message, which Vettel ignored - instructing the drivers to hold position.

Mark on winning at Monaco

In 2010, a year after his first win, Mark topped the podium in Monaco (where Brendon now lives) - becoming the first Australian to win the historic race since Jack Brabham in 1959.

Brendon and Mark on winning together as team mates

As team mates at Porsche, Brendon and Mark won the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship with fellow racer Timo Bernhard. Here, they reminisce about the experience.

Brendon on winning Le Mans

Part of motor racing’s historic Triple Crown, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is a race that many dream of winning. In 2017, Brendon accomplished one of his life’s goals by standing on the top step of the podium after winning the French endurance classic.

This season we're following Toro Rosso's Brendon Hartley, on track and off, as he negotiates his first full year in F1. The series is produced in association with The Players' Tribune.
