Charles Leclerc finished the Mexico City Grand Prix in third place behind his team mate Carlos Sainz in P1 and Lando Norris in second. The result allowed Ferrari to overtake Red Bull and close the gap to McLaren in the constructors’ championship to just 29 points.

But post-race both Leclerc’s engineer during the cool down lap and Ferrari Team Principal Fred Vasseur mentioned the time loss Leclerc suffered when passing lapped cars as being crucial in him losing the second place position that he held for the majority of the race.
